About

Welcome to Philippa’s page.

Ethiopia and Mulu Farm were all connected in my mind as being home. They still are. I was born there in 1933, apart from my time at boarding school in Wycombe Abbey and two years at Agricultural College in Kenya and one year after Michael and i were married, I lived in Ethiopia, until we had to leave in 1976 due to the communist revolution (The Dergue)

I have been back a few times, notably for our 40th Wedding anniversary in 1996 and with family in 2012.

Ethiopia played a huge part in my life and it is why i still think of it as home. I needed to write down my memories as when you get older your memory begins to fade. The stories I have written about are to do with my life and my friends there, this helps me to keep my memories alive. I can still speak a little Amharic and that helps too.

I have written them also for my Grandchildren and my great Grandchildren and future generations of the family. You may one day visit and prolong the 100 years we have had connections with that country.

I hope you enjoy!!
