Mulu to kilometre 35

Initially, we made a raft out of empty diesel barrels. They must have been tied together with strong wire or rope. The wire or rope would have had to be thrown across the river attached to a stone for whoever was there. Then the raft could be pulled across. This happened so long ago, so I cannot remember it very well. So, I will continue telling you about what happened later which I can remember.

To and fro – km. 35.

Before the all-weather road was built, we would drive to Mulu across the open countryside.
